Date: 15 January 2012

A family-run East Lothian company celebrating its 30th anniversary has announced ambitious plans to increase workforce by 50 per cent.

Scott Sutherland, the company’s managing director, said he expects the move to lead to six more staff being taken on in addition to its current complement of 12 workers, an increase of 50 per cent.

Marott makes a market-leading range of products designed to ensure the smooth running of the world’s most technologically advanced printing presses.

Mr Sutherland said:

"We are excited about the future. Our products have proven themselves in the press market and we are now taking this technology into new markets with products that have market leading performance.

"We are currently discussing the range with a number of new potential customers and we expect to have established national distribution in the coming year. The company expects the increased sales to require increased investment in headcount."
