VIBES 2012 introduce a new Collaboration Award, supported by Co-operative Development Scotland.
The Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Awards 2012 recognise businesses that have taken significant steps to improve or reduce their impact on the environment. The new Collaboration Award is for organisations that can demonstrate how they contribute to the environmental, economic and social aspects of sustainable development, through a partnership approach.
About the VIBES Awards
The environmental awards scheme is now in its thirteenth year. It aims to recognise businesses of all sizes and sectors employing environmental best practice in their day-to-day activity to cut down on resource use, increase sustainability, improve reputation and benefit the company’s bottom-line.
Over the past decade, the free-to-enter awards have produced winners from across Scotland, drawn from a range of sectors including: manufacturing; food and drink; transport; environmental services; oil and gas and leisure.
All shortlisted entries for the VIBES Awards will be offered free support from The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation. This support will be available for a minimum of half a day, and a maximum of three days, within six months of the VIBES Award ceremony.
Companies can also receive assistance from the Environmental Placement Programme, offered through Bright Green Placements, in completing their entry.
VIBES is the only Scottish awards scheme which feeds into the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE). By winning a VIBES Award, companies are eligible to enter the EBAE, which attract entries from the cream of Europe’s most environmentally positive businesses.
