Improve business practices with the CIA

Date: 01 March 2013

Chemical Industries Association act as matchmaker for best practice in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing

The Chemical Industries Association (CIA) is offering Scottish companies involved in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing, the opportunity to learn more about good practice and network with key industry contacts at its regular Responsible Care Call meetings.

Although a membership Trade Association, the CIA is committed to helping companies develop excellent Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) systems and performance.

Through its Responsible Care Cell meetings, SHE managers and advisers can get together, often with regulators, to discuss good practice, lessons learned from incidents and other SHE-related topics.

These meetings are open to any company undertaking chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing in Scotland and are a great opportunity to meet other contacts in the industry and help enhance your company’s practices.

The next meetings will take place:

  • Wednesday 22 May in Grangemouth
  • Wednesday 2 October in Dundee

Email to participate in future meetings

CIA will also be holding a Networking and Information afternoon at INEOS Grangemouth on Wednesday 24 April. As well as networking opportunities there will be several service providers with exhibition stands and talks taking place on SHE, Energy, Reach and the general economic outlook for the industry.

Again this is open to all manufacturers, particularly those with an interest in finding out more about the CIA and an interest in joining.
