The influence of leaders is extremely important. The best leaders drive business productivity, innovation and growth, boost survival and competitiveness, manage change and even drive up morale during periods of uncertainty.
Many of Scotland’s most successful companies are already reaping the benefits of embedding a culture of effective leadership at all levels.
Yet it remains true that Scotland’s economic performance lags behind competitor nations and pinning down the causes for this can be complex.
For Scotland to more effectively boost its leadership capabilities – and its economic performance - more collaboration is required across the public, private and third sectors to aid the development of a strong leadership culture in Scotland.
If we work together to promote and progress this agenda and collaborate across the public, private and third sectors, the prize for Scotland, its people, businesses and organisations will be a diverse, engaged, skilled, productive and healthy workforce, increased sustainable economic growth, environmental sustainability and strong, vibrant communities.
