Networking opportunities
There are a number of organisations and trade associations active in the aerospace, defence and marine industries that promote networking through member events.
SBAC Scotland
SBAC Scotland is the trade association for the aerospace, defence, space and naval sectors in Scotland. Established in 2005, the organisation works with stakeholders to ensure the continued success of these industries in Scotland.

The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI)
SMI promotes and supports companies that build, refit and modernise ships, and supply equipment and services for all types of commercial and naval platforms, ports and terminals infrastructure, maritime security, offshore oil and gas, and marine science and technology.

The Shipbuilders and Shiprepairers Association (SSA)
SSA is committed to industry best practice and has an Industry Forum networking arrangement with other sectors including automotive, aerospace, metals, printing, process industry, construction and furniture research. SSA members have access to business interest groups, technical, defence and research and development networks.

Scottish Engineering is a support and lobbying organisation for the manufacturing engineering industry in Scotland. Membership includes approximately 400 companies across Scotland covering all sectors of the manufacturing industry.
