Archangel Informal Investment Limited is Scotland's leading Business Angel Syndicate. Originally formed in 1992 and based in Edinburgh, the syndicate now comprises around 90 investor members who are all high net worth individuals or sophisticated investors and is investing around £6 million per year in early stage Scottish companies. The portfolio now comprises 32 companies with 750 employees in Scotland and 1,200 worldwide.
In 2006 the syndicate invested around £5.2 million in 14 fundraisings for three new investments and for follow-on funding for 11 existing investments. £2 million was also invested in two of the Enterprise Capital Funds; Amadeus and Seraphim.
