Clyde Waterfront

8 miles of the Clyde from Glasgow City Centre to Erskine

The Clyde Waterfront Strategic Partnership, comprising Scottish Enterprise, the Scottish Government and Glasgow City, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire councils, will invest £2 million during 2008 -2011, aiming to develop the Clyde as an attractive, international location that offers a competitive advantage, creates jobs and increases output.

It is forecast that the eight miles of Clyde waterfront from Glasgow City Centre to Erskine Bridge will benefit from £5.6 billion of public and private investment over a 15-20 year period - though it already has some of Scotland’s most important assets including:

  • Glasgow’s International Financial Services District (IFSD);
  • Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC);
  • BBC and SMG Productions at Pacific Quay;
  • £1.2 billion of new homes at Glasgow Harbour;
  • BAE Systems shipbuilding;
  • the award winning Braehead shopping centre at Renfrew; and
  • Clydebank’s Titan Crane.

We are promoting the importance of Clyde Waterfront to the Scottish economy.
