Regional clusters
Regional forest industries clusters were established in 2003 by the Scottish Cluster Leadership Group to deal with issues locally. The agreed role of these groups is to:
- work with the national cluster on issues of relevance and importance regionally;
- develop and implement an action plan on regional cluster issues;
- strengthen and develop regional cluster linkages; and
- broaden and deepen engagement with cluster activities.

Timber Transport Forum
The Timber Transport Forum was established in February 2000 to provide a mechanism for sharing ideas and best practice across the existing Regional Timber Transport Groups, and the wider forest industry. The main objective of the forum is to identify and promote innovation and best practice.
