MST is a small, innovative, medical diagnostics company developing tests for early detection of various diseases. As a new company it received SMART: SCOTLAND funding to prove the fundamentals of its next generation platform technology and take on another member to the team. The company has been awarded further funding to fully develop commercial products and create jobs in Scotland.

NiTech’s patented mixing technologies help companies increase profitability and reduce costs by adopting continuous processing, overcoming problems associated with batch processing. The company received a SMART: SCOTLAND award to establish if continuous crystallisation using the oscillatory baffled reactor (OBR) technology is feasible.

SureSensors is a life sciences company that designs, develops and manufactures diagnostic devices to test blood glucose levels for diabetics. The aim of the SMART: SCOTLAND project was to determine the feasibility of creating a test strip that would enhance safety by giving more accurate results when used or misused.
