- Scottish Investment Bank to provide loan funds to support business growth
- First Minister Alex Salmond has announced plans to develop a new £50 million loan fund to help growing Scottish businesses. The fund is scheduled to be open for business by the end of 2010. It will provide loans from £250k to £2m and, exceptionally, more for longer established, viable firms already demonstrating significant growth and/or firms exporting a significant proportion of their output from Scotland.
