International Year of Co-operatives 2012

International Year of Co-operatives

The United Nations has designated 2012 the International Year of Co-operatives (IYC 2012). From Argentina to Zambia, the 1.4 million co-operatives across the globe will be celebrating and showcasing their success.

We will be supporting IYC 2012 by promoting co-operative business models as drivers of economic growth.

From showcasing existing employee owned and consortium co-operatives to stimulating the creation of new collaborative enterprises, a year long programme of activity has been developed to the raise awareness and understanding of the benefits of co-operative business models.

Roadshow Programme

We have organised a series of visits to successful co-owned businesses in Scotland. Attend these events to learn more about employee ownership and to hear from the businesses direct.
