Mark Bamforth honoured by GlobalScot network

Entrepreneur and CEO of Gallus Pharmaceuticals Mark Bamforth has been inducted into the GlobalScot network’s Hall of Fame, becoming the third inspiring Scot to be honoured for their contribution to the country over the past decade.

GlobalScot Mark Bamforth, CEO of Gallus Biopharmaceuticals, has been honoured as the third member of the network’s Hall of Fame by Scottish Enterprise Chief Executive, Lena Wilson.
GlobalScot launched its Hall of Fame in late 2011 to honour those members who have made a particularly significant contribution to Scotland over the past decade.
The International Networks team were delighted to host an event with Boston-based Mark in Edinburgh recently.
Mark, a GlobalScot since 2001, has consistently gone above and beyond in his support of Scottish businesses over the years and is also a founder and trustee of the Saltire Foundation.
Mark gave an insightful and entertaining presentation which comprised his career to date, his thoughts on being an entrepreneur, fund raising and the value of the Saltire Foundation for Scotland.
With 38 attendees representing both Scottish life and chemical sciences companies plus a number of Saltire Foundation alumni, it was a busy event with lively Q&A chaired by Rhona Allison (Life and Chemical Sciences Director, Scottish Enterprise) and enthusiastic networking followed.
During the event, Lena took the opportunity to formally induct Mark into the GlobalScot Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to Scotland over the past decade.
A further three GlobalScots will be admitted to the Hall of Fame: Derek Blackwood, David Reid and Jody Hall. In the future GlobalScots will be admitted on an annual basis.
GlobalScot seeks to develop and expand Scotland's standing in the global business community by utilising the talents of leading Scots, and of people with an affinity for Scotland, to establish a worldwide network of individuals who are outstanding in their field.
