Frequently asked questions
Does a funding ceiling exist?
No, but, funding is competitive. Funding is not designed to be a replica of the initial Proof of Concept Programme (PoCP) project. In other words, proposals should be tailored to meet the new needs of the project.
Over what period is funding provided?
For pre-Round 7 projects – the duration of the project should not usually exceed six months. For projects in Round 7 and onwards – funding will be provided up until the point of the next major milestone/review.
How often should the Project Management Group meet on projects receiving new funding?
For pre-Round 7 projects - monthly (compared to quarterly on initial PoCP projects).
For projects in Round 7 and onwards – these projects will continue to meet quarterly; though teams may wish to meet monthly
How does this contract differ from an initial PoCP contract?
There is no material difference.
Can a company apply/secure these funds?
No, it is only available to universities and research Institutes with an eligible, existing Proof of Concept Programme project.
