How the proposal is evaluated

All proposals will be expected to demonstrate:

  • value for money;
  • that funding sources required after the new funding period have been identified;
  • that the funding will significantly increase the chances of a successful commercialisation outcome; and
  • that other sources of funding have been explored – particularly for those projects funded in Rounds earlier than Round 7 and which are not at the milestone/gate review stage.

The Project Management Group accompanied by the outcome manager will make a 20 minute presentation to the panel, followed by time for questions/discussion. The presentation should cover:

  • brief history of the Proof of Concept Programme project;
  • where the project is now and where it is going (technically and commercially);
  • commentary on the team;
  • details of funding request;
  • status of intellectual properties;
  • risks;
  • beyond the new funding period; and
  • the Institution's policy on equity ownership.
