What to include in your proposal
Unlike the original Proof of Concept Programme (PoCP) application, there is no standard form for submission. As a guide, you could use the following headings for a template:
- History of Project - original PoCP dates, spend, outcome achieved, reasons for any over/under spend.
- The Technology - description of the technology including its unique selling proposition.
- Where are we now and where are we going? - summary of current position, milestones to be achieved during the new funding period, status of patents.
- Details of cash requirement and what it is for - cash flow forecast, result of applications for any other funds made during the existing award*.
- Risks - the main risks to the project achieving a commercial outcome.
- Commercialisation Plan - commercialisation options, nature of the market, what happens at the end of the new funding period, risks to a successful technical/commercial outcome?
- Policy on equity ownership - what agreement has been reached in the event of commercialisation?
