We recognise that high growth technological areas often overlap more than one priority industry and we strongly encourage applications arising from the convergence of two or more broad technologies or projects with strong commercial potential in more than one industry. Where a potential project appears to cross priority industry boundaries, the applicant should select the most appropriate priority industry under which the immediate commercial potential of the application can best be assessed. For example, if an electronic innovation has its primary application in the aerospace industry, then it should probably be entered under the aerospace heading. However, as part of the due diligence in the assessment process, the Proof of Concept Applications Manager will refer an application for consideration by more than one industry assessment panel, if it is considered that such a reference would shed more light on the potential of the application.
