Public sector information
Regulations on the re-use of public sector information came into force on 1 July 2005. Their main objective is to promote the re-use of information produced and held by public sector organisations.
Just as the Freedom of Information Act enables access to information, so the Public Sector Information Regulations make that information available in a form that the public can re-use.
