Universal Video DecoderPioneering Scottish research makes its mark in the USA

Work on a ground-breaking Universal Video Decoder by a research team at Robert Gordon University has attracted international attention from California’s Silicon Valley.

In September, Professor Iain Richardson from the University’s Centre for Video Communication delivered a keynote speech about the Decoder to the International System on Chip Conference in California.

A Glasgow software company is to use a successful funding round to further develop and market its innovative multilingual text software product.

Keypoint Technologies (KPT) is developing the text application for devices like PDAs, and the first smartphones using its patented Adaptxt system will be unveiled in Autumn.
