The Edinburgh Centre for Bioinformatics
The Centre hosts one of the largest groups of bioinformatics researchers in the UK. It aims to provide support for new ground level initiatives in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology fields. Its networks and collaborations stretch across several schools, universities and biotechnology and biomedical research institutes in Edinburgh. This includes the 5 * A rated University of Edinburgh School of Informatics and the National e-Science Centre.

Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) is a leading European Centre of expertise in the emerging filed of computational research, with facilities comparable to the best in the US. EPCC is a consultant to global companies including IBM and leads a consortium that manages access to Europe’s fastest academic computer. Research areas - advanced research, technology transfer, HECToR (High End Computing Terascale Resources), and the provision of supercomputer services to Universities.
Division of Pathway Medicine
Division of Pathway Medicine is a research centre combining science and technology, blue-sky and applied research, academia and business. Directed by Professor Peter Ghazal its aim is to intergrate post-genomic science with medicine, to better understand disease processes.
Research areas – pathway biology of infection and immunity, biochip medicine in systemic response to disease.
