Edinburgh to be branded Scotland's 'science city'

Edinburgh is set to be branded as a "science city" to attract investment and jobs to the capital. It will be the first Scottish city to have the title, and join six existing science cities in England.
The move by Edinburgh City Council is designed to bring more attention to Edinburgh's scientific expertise, including the science parks and institutions in Edinburgh Science Triangle.

Edinburgh is the best place to live in the UK according to Channel 4 property programme Location, Location, Location.
The programme's makers rated all 434 local authorities in the UK based on crime, education, employment, environment, lifestyle and health statistics - and Edinburgh topped the list.

Edinburgh Science Triangle has been named as the most enterprising area in Scotland by winning the Scottish finals of the Department of Trade and Industry's Enterprising Britain 2007 competition.
