Record year for Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh has strengthened its position as Scotland's leading research institution by earning a record £210 million to fund its research in 2006/07 – an increase of 50 percent on last year.


Recently named as one of the top 10 modern universities, Queen Margaret is a fast growing University College which boasts an enviable 94.1% graduate employment rate.

The University College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the areas of healthcare, drama and the creative industries; media, communication and sociology, and business and enterprise. With over 4,000 students enrolled on courses, the QM is in the process of moving to a new campus on the east side of Edinburgh. The new campus features high-tech facilities including an innovative learning resource centre combining IT and library services.

Research Excellence

QM's research activity is internationally recognised. The University College achieved a 4 rating for its groundbreaking work in the field of Speech and Language Disorders. In 2002, QM  won a prestigious Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education. It is the only university department of speech and language therapy in the UK ever to have won this award which recognises the institution's commitment to improving the quality of life for people with communication disorders.
