National training programmes

The responsibility for the National Training Programmes transferred from Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to Skills Development Scotland (SDS) on 1 April 2008. You may therefore see reports or case studies on this site which include a reference to Scottish Enterprise activity prior to 1 April 2008.

Introduction

There are a variety of options open to you to develop your skills. You can apply to do a course at college or university, or you might want to undertake one of a number of training programmes supported by SDS.

Four programmes are delivered by SDS and its partners, which can help you get into a job - or improve your job skills. All involve work-based training or placements as well as support from training providers.
