Scottish Enterprise Borders has appointed two leading business and community representatives to its Board.

Kathy Greenwood, an investment director of W L Ventures Ltd and a member of Eddleston Community Council, and Anne Rosaleen Younger, Justice of the Peace and former Chairwoman of the Scottish Borders Tourist Board and President of the Eastgate Theatre will join the board at next week’s meeting.

Both bring extensive experience to the Board that will help Scottish Enterprise Borders make a positive difference to individuals and businesses in the region and help to represent the Tweed Valley area on the Board.

Kathy Greenwood’s appointment will help to strengthen the Board’s expertise in venture capital funding, business development and links within the Edinburgh City Region, having worked with a variety of companies on issues ranging from business planning, fund raising and change management.  Anne Rosaleen Younger has held a number of positions within public life in the Borders over the past 25 years including seven years as member of the Scottish Borders Council and played a key role in establishing the Eastgate Theatre.  Ms Younger’s experience within the tourism sector will also be a key advantage for Scottish Enterprise Borders as they look to develop new tourism infrastructure around adventure sports in the region.

Hugh Tasker, Chairman of Scottish Enterprise Borders, says:  ‘I am delighted to welcome Kathy and Anne to our Board.  They have excellent track records within their respective fields, and their specific skills and knowledge will be an invaluable resource to the work of SEB as we aim to continue to build on the region’s recent successes and attract new investment, opportunities and jobs to the Scottish Borders.”
