Supporting the Strategy for the Financial Services Industry

The Financial Services Advisory Board (FiSAB) was established in 2005 to act as custodian of the industry led strategy for financial services in Scotland. This strategy had previously been developed by ourselves, representatives of the industry, trade unions and government.

universally recognised as a leader on the global stage

We endorse and support this strategy and in particular support its implementation in the areas where our expertise and experience in economic development will have the greatest impact.

Through the strategy, an ambitious vision has evolved which is to create:

“An innovative, competitive and thriving international financial services industry in Scotland, underpinned by world-class infrastructure and universally recognised as a leader on the global stage.”

FiSAB aims to deliver this vision through a focus on three central strategic goals:

  • People – strengthening our world-class work force.
  • Profile – building the industry’s reputation within and beyond Scotland.
  • Infrastructure – supporting and improving the physical and business infrastructure.

There are a range of initiatives underway which assist in the delivery of these goals – supporting businesses in Scotland and encouraging global businesses to establish a presence here.

How to be involved in the Financial Services Strategy

Scotland’s financial services strategy is driven by FiSAB and enacted by the Financial Services Implementation Group (FiSIG). We are represented in both of these bodies and play a role in many of the initiatives which are delivered to meet the strategic goals.
