About Send to a friend

Frequently asked questions

How does 'Send to a friend' work?

You can use this service to forward a news story to a friend or colleague you think will be interested in it. You can also include a personal message. The email will appear to come from your email address, although it is actually generated by our servers.

What does Scottish Enterprise do with the information I provide?

The email addresses you provide will only be used to deliver the email to the address you specify. We won't use the details to send you unsolicited email, or pass them on to anyone else.

We do not record or store either of the email addresses you provide.

We do keep a record of how often the service is used, and which articles are forwarded. We do this to monitor how useful you find the service, and to gain some insight into what stories you find most interesting.

We also record the domains of the sender and recipient (for example, @gmail.com), but we could not use this information to personally identify either you or the recipient.

If you think this service has been abused

It is impossible for us to verify the email address or name of the sender with this service. If you are receiving unwanted emails and do not recognise the email address of the sender, please forward the email to enquiries@scotent.co.uk

We will only use the information you supply to reply to you or contact you for more information. We won't give your details to anyone outside Scottish Enterprise without your permission.
