What is a high-growth company?

High-growth companies take many forms. They range from start-ups and small enterprises to large companies. They are found in both established industries and emerging sectors.

As a rule of thumb, a high-growth company is one that grows its turnover or employee numbers by over 20% for three years running.

An estimated 10,000 companies fall into this category. What they typically have in common are a focus on innovation and forging long-term customer relationships, and often an international outlook.

How do we support account-managed companies?

Where we recognise a business with high-growth capacity and ambitions, we are able to build deep relationships with them. We tailor our support to fit each company’s aspirations. Account managers work with each company to develop challenging growth plans. Then they help them realise these plans, through a range of support. For instance, they may provide specialist help for innovation or product development, or support to enter overseas markets.

Who do we currently support?

We work most intensively with around 2,000 businesses through our account management programme. These companies vary in size and scale but each has been selected as a result of their significant growth potential.
