Scotland's Construction Industry Strategy 2013-2016
Building for the future is our Industry Strategy for 2013-2016. It sets out the ambition and priorities for coming years.
It recognises the need for change, and a committment to achieving growth. It also outlines Construction's contribution to the Scottish Government’s wider Economic and Low Carbon strategies.

How the strategy was developed
First, a steering group was drawn from industry, to work closely with the Industry Advisory Group (IAG). This group oversaw the commissioning of independent research by Scottish Enterprise in 2011.

Industry workshops
In Spring 2012, 20 workshops were held throughout Scotland. These allowed businesses, stakeholders and public sector representatives to share their views on the strategy. An online survey ran at the same time.
While the draft strategy was refined, work began on an action plan, which was reviewed by further workshops. This extensive consultation process meant over 500 industry representatives helped develop the strategy.
