Scottish Enterprise’s work focuses on using public sector funds to leverage private sector investment in the offshore renewables sector, which will have significant impact on the growth of the sector.
Scottish Enterprise approved a £6 million package of support (£2 million from Regional Selective Assistance and a £4 million commercial loan) to allow Burntisland Fabrications (BiFab) to significantly expand its facilities and as a result, BiFab was able to secure an £11 million equity injection through a partnership with Scottish and Southern Energy.
During 2009/10, Scottish Enterprise invested almost £7 million into energy-related technology companies such as Aquamarine Power and Green Ocean Energy, resulting in a total deal value of around £19 million.
Buccleuch Property and Scottish Enterprise signed a joint-venture partnership agreement in that will help transform nearly 155,000 square feet of multi-let space within the Aberdeen Science and Energy Park and the Aberdeen Science and Technology Park, which form part of the flagship Energetica project.
