The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit, provides a range of support in the design, administration and management of academic clinical trials led from BioQuarter. In addition, securely managed pre-clinical bio-safety testing facilities are located at BioQuarter.
There are a significant number of links to the biomedical industry through research collaborations and licensing at BioQuarter. Investigators in Edinburgh are involved in commercial trials with more than 40 companies, including leading pharmaceutical companies. Both the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian have a wealth of experience and a strong track record in managing the Intellectual Property arising from joint and sponsored research.
