- The futureSME consortium is hosting a free two-hour seminar on the Business Model Canvas in GMIT on Thursday, 17th May, starting at 14.00.
The Business Model Canvas is a strategic management template for developing new or documenting existing business models. It is a visual chart with elements describing a company's value proposition, infrastructure, customers and finances. It assists companies in aligning their activities by illustrating potential trade-offs. Check outBMC and look at the video. The Business Model Canvas provides huge advantage for companies, in particular SMEs, enabling them to quickly gain greater clarity about those activities that add value to their business. The tool is highly visual, facilitates widespread involvement and helps achieve consensus on the priorities of the company.
The Business Model Canvas is offered as part of the FutureSME Transformation Process® .
The seminar will be chaired by Dr Ardawan Lalui of the FutureSME consortium and will be presented by John Murray. John is a program manager at Scottish Enterprise, where he is responsible for their Smart Cities (Mobility) Programme. A graduate of Cambridge and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan School of Management), John has significant experience of enterprise creation and company growth.
