Interim Managing Director Scottish Development International and Scottish Enterprise International Operations

Neil is currently Interim Managing Director of Scottish Development International (SDI) - the international arm of Scotland's enterprise agencies. He is also responsible for leading the development of the Scottish Investment Bank (SIB) - the largest investor of early stage risk capital in Scotland. Alongside this, Neil continues in his role as International Trade and Investment Scotland Director for SDI.

Neil has worked for Scottish Enterprise for 20 years and has held a number of senior positions. This includes Senior Director for Technology and Engineering.

He is passionate about helping to build an outward-looking Scotland, increasing our international competitiveness and supporting companies to grow, create wealth and employment. He is committed to focusing on the customer, delivering real support and great value. He is a connector building relationships across the globe with our international teams and throughout Scotland.

Neil graduated with a B.Sc (Hons) from Loughborough University of Science and Technology in 1986. He also obtained an MBA with distinction at the Strathclyde Graduate Business School in 1997.
