Employee owned firms are proven to be more productive and sustainable than their conventionally structured peers. For example:

  • Woollard & Henry grew turnover from £1m to £6m
  • Network ROI saw a 45% increase in share value
  • Clansman Dynamics achieved a 50% increase in sales

What is the secret of their success?

What can non employee-owned companies learn from employee ownership?

This seminar will examine how harnessing the collective talents of employees can drive business success.

What’s covered

This session looks at:

  • What drivers deliver enhanced performance in an employee owned firm?
  • How do you maximize everyone’s abilities to achieve business goals?
  • How can you hardwire employee involvement into your business?

Speakers

Page\Park is an award-winning architecture practice based in Glasgow. Their work is easily recognizable: the iconic Glasgow School of Art restoration, the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park HQ and the Theatre Royal extension. The firm has taken a different approach to the usual formal hierarchy found in professional firms and this has resulted in an engaged and efficient team. Karen Pickering, Chair, will share their story.

Saxton Bampfylde moved to employee ownership just over a year ago and the firm is already seeing the benefits. Branch Manager, Peta Hay will discuss the reasons the company chose this route, and how the company combines sound, responsive decision-making while involving the employee owners.

Ewan Hall is one of the foremost advisers on business models. He has particular experience in helping businesses find the right ownership and governance structures that enable them to continue to flourish commercially while embedding a broader culture of engagement and accountability.
