Discover opportunities to grow your business beyond Scotland at this fully-funded international forum, hosted by Scottish Development International and Dumfries Council, as part of Dumfries Business Week.
Hear from guest speakers from innovative Scottish SMEs as they share their experiences of doing business overseas.
Sheena Horner of Galloway Chillies is about to take the leap and will shortly begin exporting her products to mainland Europe. She will talk about why she’s decided to start small scale exporting and what she hopes to achieve over the next couple of years. She’ll also share her experience of working with business support organisations to help get started.
Chris Harrison of craft cider maker Waulkmill Cider began exporting small volumes to specialist buyers in Germany several years ago. He has since started trading in Scandinavia and has kept it small, manageable and successful. Chris will outline the benefits of small scale exporting and will explain how he identifies potential buyers.
You'll also have the opportunity to network with globally-focused Scottish businesses over breakfast.
You'll get the chance to:
- Understand the importance of preparation and planning before embarking on international growth
- Share experiences, concerns, challenges and opportunities with like-minded business leaders in your area
- Learn about the broad range of support available to companies from SDI
There will be an opportunity for a Q&A session with the guest speakers during the forum. We can also offer one-to-one meetings with international trade advisers following the forum.
