Booking and event delivery
When booking an event with Scottish Enterprise (SE) you are reserving a place at the event and signing up to these terms and conditions. You will receive an automated email to confirm your booking and, if there is a cost associated with the event, confirmation of your payment.
By completing an online event booking you are indicating you will attend an event organised by SE. Places on events are booked on a first-come first-served basis. It is essential that all delegates pre-book places at an event. SE reserves the right to prevent delegates from taking part in a course which has not been pre-booked.
SE can offer group bookings for some events, but for some events may accept only limited attendees from the same organisation. Full booking details can be found in the relevant event details web page.
If an event is full you may be added to a waiting list for this event. In the event of a cancellation, SE may contact you. To be added to the waiting list for an event, book the event as normal and you will be advised by return you have been added to the waiting list. SE does not guarantee that all or any delegates held on the waiting list will be offered a place on the actual event.
The duration and location of the event will be specified in the event description for that event.
Inclusion & equality
At all of our events SE are committed to make every effort to ensure equality of access and to meet the needs of the target audience. Please let SE know if you have any specific needs, not covered in the event booking form.
The fee includes event participation and course materials. SE will specify in the online booking details if lunch and refreshments are included. Participants are responsible for finding and paying for their own accommodation, if required, and travel. Residential events will be clearly marked and will include accommodation. Full details of what is included in the fee can be found on the relevant event details web page.
Where a fee is charged for attending an event, all payments must be completed online by credit or debit card. No payment card details will be held by SE. SE can hold places following initial booking until 14 days before the event to allow final payment to be made.
Please note that non-payment after booking onto an event does not indicate a cancellation, unless you have informed SE that you no longer require your booking. Please see SEs cancellation policy below for further details.
Cancellations 72 hours or more before the beginning of the event incur no penalty, and SE will refund your fee in full, apart from bank transfer fees which may apply. Cancellations less than 72 hours in advance, as well as no-shows, are charged in full and no refund will be made. Substitutions may be made at any time without penalty.
You can cancel your place at an event by logging in. (Please see below for group booking cancellations.)
Substitutions must be done by email to email@example.com or by calling 0845 607 8787
Please note that the cancellation policy is applicable for all bookings made, as a place has been reserved for you. SE reserve the right to require payment for no-shows, as these incur the same cost and prevent the place being offered to other participants.
No repayment will made for travel, accommodation and any other costs incurred, by you.
Group booking cancellations
Where a partial cancellation is required for a group booking, please contact SE events team in the first instance, on:
- 0845 607 8787 (calls charged at local rates)
- 0141 228 2000 from mobile phones or if outside Scotland
- Minicom 0800 023 2071 - if you are deaf or hard of hearing (BT helpline 0800 731 1888)
If SE cancels an event
Occasionally SE may have to cancel or postpone an event. If a cancellation takes place SE will use reasonable endeavours to notify all customers who are booked on by telephone, email or in writing. SE will refund your event fee or transfer your booking to another date or event, whichever suits you best. Unfortunately SE will not be able to refund travel or accommodation expenses or other costs incurred by you. Please note that cancelling SE events is thankfully very rare.
Changes to an event
It may be necessary for reasons beyond SEs control to change the content or speakers for an event. SE will use reasonable endeavours to notify you of changes made to timing and venue. SE reserve the right to make changes to an event without notice to booked delegates.
