Could this be your year?

Once again, we're partnering with BQ Magazine for the annual HSBC Scottish Export Awards as they return to Glasgow on 22 March 2017 for a fourth year.

The export awards are a great platform to showcase the entrepreneurial spirit and potential of Scottish businesses worldwide – and help inspire, enlighten and motivate others to consider exporting for the first time.

They're also a great opportunity for Scottish companies, like yours, to get the recognition they deserve for export success.

Exporting is now considered essential for any Scottish business wanting to safeguard future growth. Earlier this year, Think Analytics, a real-time personalised content recommendation platform now operating in more than 40 countries, was awarded the esteemed title of Scotland’s Exporter of the Year.

Last year over 100 exporters entered at least one of the eight award categories, representing £500 million of export turnover from Scotland.

In that same year, we supported over 2500 Scottish companies to export internationally. And we look forward to working with new and existing exporters in the years ahead to help you achieve your growth ambitions.

Think Analytics

Scottish Exporter of the Year 2016

Winners of the ‘Most Entrepreneurial Exporter of the Year’ title and the overall prize for 'Scottish Exporter of the Year' in 2016 were Glasgow-based technology provider Think Analytics.

Winning the Scottish Exporter of the Year award was "a great recognition for the hard work that our dedicated team has put in over the past 10 years," explains Eddie Young, Think Analytics chairman.

The company provides real-time personalised content recommendations for Sky, Virgin Media and other big-name television companies.

"We're like Google but for television."

The company’s software can look at a customer’s viewing habits and then come-up with recommendations for other programmes that the customer may enjoy. There is now a wealth of content from multiple sources but it is difficult for the viewer to find it easily.

More then 70 companies now use Think Analytics' technology. The software is now available in more than 40 countries and in 32 languages, including Hindi and Mandarin.

The business has grown to have around 80 staff spread across its sites in Glasgow, London, Los Angeles, Pune, Sao Paolo and Singapore. "Our revenues grew by 50% last year and are measured in the tens of millions," says Eddie.
