Selling on the Blocket online marketplace

Getting started on Blocket

Blocket (or The Block) operates as a marketplace using a classified ads format. But, you can set up your own online shop as a seller.

The site sorts ads by regions, so you’ll need to have stock stored locally and be able to make listings in the local language. However, many Swedes do speak English, so posting ads in English would also work.

The Block is a popular marketplace in Sweden. It has around 5 million weekly visitors and 7 out of 10 Swedes have bought or sold on The Block.

Markets

Blocket is a business-to-consumer (B2C) market place, selling to customers in Sweden.

Sectors

You can sell on Blocket if your business is in one or more of the following sectors:

  • Electronics
  • Fashion
  • Homewares
  • Furnishings
  • Cars
  • Hobbies

Subscriptions and fees
