Co-operative Development Scotland runs a programme of  masterclasses throughout the year focusing on succession planning and employee ownership. Join one of our free sessions to explore your exit options and learn more about the advantages of selling to your staff.

Who are the workshops intended for?

The ‘Selling your business’ seminars are targeted at business owners who are considering the best way to exit their business – even if you’re not quite ready to take that step back yet.

Deciding on an exit strategy can seem like a daunting task, but it’s never too early to start looking at possibilities. Employee ownership is gaining popularity as a tax-efficient solution that secures your company’s legacy while offering benefits for you, your staff and the local area.

At each session you can learn about the exit options available to you and get expert advice from specialist advisers. Find out if selling to your employees is the right choice for you and your business, and get tips on how to make sure the process goes smoothly.

At each session you’ll also hear directly from a business owner who has successfully made the transition to employee ownership. Learn more about the factors that influenced their decision, as well as the buyout process and how they’re getting on now.

There will also be opportunities to ask questions of other business owners in the same position.
