Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland’s national economic development agency. We help Scottish businesses to grow nationally and internationally, to become more efficient and innovative, and to access the services they need to grow and help the Scottish economy.

The Can Do Innovation Challenge Fund (ICF) is a new national innovation programme – it supports public sector organisations and economic development by encouraging collaboration with innovative SMEs to help solve Scotland’s key policy and service delivery challenges. The Can Do ICF is a partnership run between the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Highland and Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Funding Council.

We are hiring two project managers to help deliver the fund – one on a permanent basis and another with an initial fixed-term contract until March 2020.

The difference you'll make

As a key member of the Fund Delivery team, you’ll manage several research and development projects with a variety of Scottish public-sector organisations.

Supporting the challenge sponsors and the companies co-developing solutions, you’ll help them maximise the chances of commercialisation success. While your project management skills will help ensure outputs are delivered on time and to budget.

You’ll routinely analyse operational processes to help improve performance and efficiency, and work with the Fund Manager to develop and scale our approach.

These roles can be based in any Scottish Enterprise office in Scotland, though Glasgow would be preferable.

The qualities you'll bring

You’ll be educated to degree level or have several years’ experience working in programme or project management. A strong communicator, you’ll be confident handling negotiations and managing stakeholder relationships. As you’ll be working regularly with partners and stakeholders, a strong knowledge of business innovation and support is essential.

Meetings will regularly be held at sponsors’ offices, so a driving licence would be desirable. Infrequent travel overseas may also be required.

1st stage interviews will be held on 31 July 2019
2nd stage interviews will be held on 08 August 2019
