Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland’s main economic development agency. We help Scottish businesses to grow nationally and internationally, to become more efficient and innovative, and to access the funds they need to develop. We also attract overseas companies to invest in Scotland.

Our digital transformation programme is changing the way we deliver our services, making it easier for customers to do business with us and to create wider economic impact.

The difference you'll make

We are seeking a hands-on analytics professional and charismatic leader to lead our newly formed customer insights and analytics team.

You’ll be expected to have extensive and practical knowledge in the areas of SEO, customer journey and social media listening analytics which will help us improve the experience and services we deliver for our customers.

You’ll have the opportunity, empowerment, time and budget to develop and continually improve the analytical practices with your team.

Overall, we are seeking a person who wants to lead a team who will make a difference to the Scottish economy, who shares our passion and has the experience to make things happen.

The qualities you'll bring

You will need to have experience with the technical aspects of SEO - how to best set the design and measurement practices, approaches to analyse, interpret multi-channel customer journey insights and know how to tackle social media, especially sentiment analysis.

Ideally, you will have experience with data modelling (using SPSS, SAS, R for example) and be very comfortable working with data engineers and data architects to establish a portfolio of new analytical capabilities.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead your team on:

  • Developing self-service customer insights approaches
  • Project specific customer journey analysis
  • SEO audits
  • Setting the search design direction
  • Content usage analysis
  • Conducting social media analysis

You'll work collaboratively across the organisation to inform the action that needs to be undertaken, based on deep analysis and insights undertaken.

Upon establishing the insights and analytics foundation, you'll have the opportunity to develop new decision sciences capabilities, focusing on forecasting and predictive analytics.

You’ll be a great coach for your team to help them develop the skills, experience and can-do attitude that will improve Scottish Enterprise’s ability to develop a data-driven approach for the benefits of the economy and for our customers.
