Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland’s national economic development agency. We help Scottish businesses to grow nationally and internationally, to become more efficient and innovative, and to access the services they need to grow and help the Scottish economy.

‘International Scale Up’ is a new Scottish Government trade initiative which will provide intensive support for up to 50 businesses each year. It will help them ramp up export activities and expand international reach.

The difference you'll make

The initiative supports businesses who are already exporting successfully but have the ambition and capability to better capitalise on global opportunities. The chosen businesses will gain access to support in areas like international strategy development, export finance and developing market connections.

As a project manager, you will work closely with SE colleagues and partner organisations to ensure efficient and successful delivery. And you’ll oversee key project resources including budget, information management and processes.

You'll also assist in the ongoing development of the project approach, looking for innovative ways to help us deliver even more. And you'll help raise awareness of the initiative by delivering events and promoting our aims across the organisation and beyond.

The qualities you'll bring

An experienced project manager with a strong track record in delivery, you will be able to apply analytic skills in complex situations while still thinking creatively.

With strong communication skills, you’ll be great at building relationships with customers, stakeholders and partners – and proactively promoting the Scale Up initiative to all.

A confident self-starter, you will be equally comfortable working on your own or leading projects. While it’s not essential that you have experience working in international trade, it’s important you have a strong interest in this aspect of business.

1st stage interview will be held on 3 October 19

2nd stage interviews will be held on 10 October 19
