The opportunity

Join Scottish Enterprise’s Graduate Development Programme and discover a role in which you can make a difference to Scotland’s economy.

You’ll join the team that helps to steer the evolution of Scottish Enterprise’s digital products: the ‘shopfront’ to the services we provide to businesses. These include websites like scottishenterprise.com, SDI.co.uk, and FindBusinessSupport.gov.scot.

There’s also a large and comprehensive Customer Relationship Management system, plus a brand-new Customer Platform.

The role

As a Delivery Manager within a cross-functional team of digital specialists, you’ll see to it that the product or service you’re working on is delivered effectively. This will mean managing the project, understanding what needs to be done, and tracking progress toward delivery.

It’ll also involve you in working with the delivery team to ensure it has the information it needs to carry out its role, and to assist the team as it works to improve its delivery performance.

Delivery management is typically a senior role, so this is a great opportunity to fast track your skills and learn from experienced Delivery Managers. It’s also an ideal introduction to the way digital product teams are facilitated by Delivery Managers, plus a chance to put the skills you learned at university (no matter what subject you studied) into practical real-world use.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working on one of our digital products and taking responsibility for facilitating its delivery by ensuring the whole team is supported
  • Working with Product Owners and other stakeholders to make sure your delivery team can deliver effectively
  • Helping the delivery team identify anything affecting delivery, finding ways to remove those blockers, and maintaining a practice of continuous improvement

Who we're looking for

You’ll be an enthusiastic graduate aiming to take on an Associate Delivery Manager role at the end of this two-year programme. We’ll help you work towards that goal by equipping you with any skills you don’t already have.

For now, we’ll expect you to bring us the following skills, experience, traits and strengths:

  • Qualifications or skills and experience at SCQF Level 9 as a minimum (e.g. BA/Ordinary Degree, Graduate Diploma or SVQ at SCQF Level 9)
  • You enjoy working with people, understanding their needs and turning these into requirements
  • You like researching problems, exploring solutions and giving reasons for your decisions
  • You take a structured approach to progressing through work and making recommendations
  • You’re a skilled team player who understands your own and others’ strengths and weaknesses
  • You believe in getting the best from everyone, ensuring diversity of thought informs solutions
  • You like working iteratively, tracking progress towards a goal but remaining open to change

What we offer

If successful, you'll gain access to the following benefits:

  • Membership of the Scottish Enterprise Pension and Life Assurance Scheme – a pension based on your final pensionable salary, flexible retirement options and generous life assurance cover
  • Up to 43 annual leave days a year (including public holidays), with the opportunity to buy additional holidays
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A health cash plan
  • Our Employee Retail Benefits Scheme
  • Our Employee Assistance Scheme
