Be part of building Scotland's future

Join Scottish Enterprise’s digital team and help deliver digital products to some of Scotland’s most transformative businesses.

This role oversees digital product delivery within our Enabling Customers portfolio, which includes a large customer relationship management (CRM) system, an online grants system and a new online customer platform.

Work with us and you’ll get to evolve the most front-facing part of our organisation and meet the needs of the businesses making a difference to Scotland’s economy.

The role

As senior Delivery Manager, you’ll be working in a team of digital specialists creating complex, high-risk products and services that improve underlying business processes and the systems facilitating them. These products are used across all areas of the organisation and the businesses we work with.

Your role will be to manage delivery of the products through project management: understanding what needs to be done and tracking delivery. You’ll work with the delivery team to improve performance and make sure they are set up for success.

As a senior Delivery Manager, you'll be the main point of escalation, as well as developing the team’s professional delivery practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of complex and high-risk digital products
  • Supporting the whole team, managing performance measures and monitoring progress
  • Working with the product owner and other stakeholders so that the delivery team can succeed
  • Coaching and mentoring other delivery managers and delivery team members
  • Helping the delivery team identify and remove barriers and continue improving their work and their processes – this includes planning beyond product delivery, identifying dependencies in plans across services and coordinating delivery
  • Contributing to project governance and reporting dashboards by putting robust audit trails in place
  • Coordinating the production of key design documents and participating in our Digital Architecture Board as required
  • Making sure your team is working towards the appropriate service standards for the relevant phase and documenting appropriately

Who we're looking for

You’ll have experience leading cross-functional teams across complex and multiple digital service design projects within a portfolio.

You know how to communicate with your team and key stakeholders to improve processes and performance, and you’re a problem-solver by nature – you understand team dynamics and how to fix them.

Focused on how the team can deliver results and work with momentum, you’re an advocate for the positive difference we can make.

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

  • Expertise in coaching and leading teams in agile and lean practices
  • Delivering complex digital projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills
  • Engaging senior stakeholders
  • Negotiating, influencing or setting budgets in complex environments
  • Writing or inputting into business cases and communicating business value propositions
  • Agile practitioner qualifications

What we offer

If successful, you'll gain access to the following benefits:

  • Membership of the Scottish Enterprise Pension and Life Assurance Scheme – a pension based on your final pensionable salary, flexible retirement options and generous life assurance cover
  • Up to 43 annual leave days a year (including public holidays), with the opportunity to buy additional holidays
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A health cash plan
  • Our Employee Retail Benefits Scheme
  • Our Employee Assistance Scheme

If you're interested in this role, please complete your application by Sunday 26 May 2024.

Interview dates:

•    First interview: 3 June 2024
