Join us in our Digital and Technical Operations team and help shape our organisation’s digital future. This is your opportunity to lead on the delivery of strategically important corporate applications projects and play a pivotal role in Scottish Enterprise’s digital transformation.

The role

Together with a small team of technical and subject matter experts, you’ll develop and deliver a corporate applications roadmap, programme and associated projects.

You’ll be matrix managing the team. You’ll also manage the resources and budgets helping our directorate make more of investments into corporate applications. 

You’ll be working independently, making the calls on how your projects and your team work and collaborate with others. This means you’ll be responsible for maintaining Scottish Enterprise's principles and governance across your work, as well as our relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and partner agencies. 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the Corporate Applications Portfolio – this includes Finance, HR, Project Management and associated record-keeping systems
  • Developing a roadmap for the applications, their programme and associated projects – this will include creating business cases, managing approvals and delivering in line with Scottish Enterprise's governance and principles
  • Prioritising your portfolio by managing resources including finances and your team of subject matter experts
  • Managing stakeholders and updating the Portfolio Steering Board with accurate progress reports, management information and appropriate recommendations
  • Developing your portfolio governance and reporting in line with the Portfolio Steering Board Terms of Reference
  • Championing visibility and transparency for your portfolio at all levels of Scottish Enterprise

Who we're looking for

You’re a programme and project methodologies specialist with experience in financial and commercial management. Used to building momentum and maintaining delivery at pace, we need your problem-solving expertise and continual improvement mindset to keep our programme and our people on track.

You should also be  comfortable managing stakeholder relationships while championing our department’s work at all levels.  

Your skills, abilities and experience should include expert knowledge in:

  • Programme and project methodologies
  • Agile and lean practices
  • Planning, communication and collaboration
  • Improving processes
  • Application lifecycles
