How we support our graduates

The challenge of transforming Scotland’s economy today – and in the future – requires Scottish Enterprise to encourage a vibrant, innovative, representative and engaged workforce capable of thinking differently and delivering creative solutions.

Not only do our graduate roles offer excellent development opportunities across the business but they also allow for further learning opportunities through group learning sessions, tailored CPD courses and access external events to ensure our graduates can be their best.

Our focus on young people in our organisation is promoted through our Young Leaders Group which enhances the voices of young people across the organisation. The Young Leaders Group aims to provide new ways to make a difference and create unique development opportunities for our young people. The group also offers a chance for young people across the organisation to network and connect with one another.

We also have our Coaching and Mentoring Programme available to all of our colleagues who are looking to develop a new skill or help them reach their full potential.

The application process

  • Online application form

Fill out our online application form for the role you’re interested in. You can save as you go along, and return to complete it any time before the deadline. Only upload a CV if you’re asked to.

  • Initial decision

Using a blind recruitment process, we’ll review your application along with all other submitted applications. We’ll always contact you to let you know whether your application has progressed to the next stage or not.

  • Assessment centres

If your application looks suitable, we’ll invite you to attend an in person assessment centre. We will contact you beforehand with everything you need to know. You will be assessed along with other candidates and take part in exercises such as group exercises, a presentation, and an interview.

  • Interviews

If you have been successful in the assessment centre, we will invite you to an interview – either remotely or in person.

  • Final decision

We’ll contact everyone we interview to let them know if they’ve been successful or not. If you’ve been successful we’ll be in touch with our offer. If you accept, we’ll provide your contract, confirm your start date and provide any other information you need.
