Join Scottish Enterprise’s Business Support Services team and help deliver digital products to some of Scotland’s most transformative businesses.
This role is responsible for the products in our web portfolio, which currently includes our core in-house built sites and the web sites or services we deliver to businesses across Scotland.
Work with us, and you’ll get to evolve the most front-facing part of our organisation and meet the needs of the businesses making a difference to Scotland’s economy.
The role
As Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for the quality of product delivery. You’ll support cross-functional delivery teams of digital specialists managing projects though discovery, alpha, beta and live states. You’ll work collaboratively, sharing your knowledge across other directorates, such as Digital, Data and IT (DDIT).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prioritising your delivery team’s work pipeline, making sure delivery quality is to a high standard
- Identifying and realising benefits of product development and adoption
- Mentoring and coaching other product managers
- Potentially getting involved in some programme management activity
Who we're looking for
You’ll be at the point in your career when you’re developing expert knowledge of product management techniques and can demonstrate an understanding of design, technology and data principles.
You’re experienced across multiple parts of the product life cycle, bringing your knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities.
Your skills, abilities and experience should include:
- Applying strategic thinking to give end users the best experience
- Keeping abreast of industry best practice and cascading ways of working
- Getting buy-in from senior stakeholders and colleagues
- Coaching and leading teams in agile and lean practices
- Helping teams manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and adhere to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), priorities and scope
- Showing an awareness of assisted digital support, with the ability to explain why it’s important
- Relevant Agile qualifications
