Salary: £22,932 pro rata

The opportunity
Scotland is known for its innovations, but it also has an impressive trading history, and trade remains critical to its future economic growth and overall prosperity. In this fast-changing world, we need to look at which global megatrends of the future will impact Scottish companies. From there, we can help business leaders to respond and future-proof their businesses.
Our global teams are working to identify and feed these important global insights back to Scotland. It’s a big job, which means we have an incredible opportunity for you to join us.
You’ll help us create a system to share and promote international insights from our worldwide specialists direct to the companies that need to hear about them.
The role
As part of Consumer Industries, which sits in our organisation’s International Trade team, you’ll work closely with our colleagues across our international teams, as well as with our ambitious exporters.
You’ll get to know some of Scotland’s sectors as you work with the team to develop a compelling and attractive insights newsletter that will raise awareness of future global opportunities and trends.
To do this effectively, you'll:
- Work with colleagues overseas to understand the types of insights they've identified
- Meet with Scottish food and drink and consumer companies to gather feedback and develop a newsletter that works for them
- Develop an engaging insights newsletter to promote to Scottish companies, as well as a process that can be adapted for our other sector teams
Who we're looking for
This programme welcomes applications from undergraduates in the early stages of their degree studies.
A real interest in international trade is a must, as is curiosity and a talent for innovative thinking. We’ll also expect you to come equipped with:
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- An ability to deal confidently and professionally with a diverse range of colleagues and businesses
- A flexible, adaptable approach to different working environments
- A creative flair to collate and present information to a high standard
- Willingness to travel when needed to other Scottish Enterprise offices or client locations
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and online content creation and management tools
- Educated to SCQF Level six
