Information requested

How much funding you gave to each defence, aerospace and marine firm located in Scotland in 2021-2022. Could you also please give me the total amount of money given as a result to these companies.

Response

Scottish Enterprise works with both indigenous businesses and international companies with a base in Scotland and our support is focused on specific projects undertaken at those Scottish sites. The aerospace, defence and shipbuilding companies with whom we work employ tens of thousands of people across Scotland, and our aim is to help them to make their activities more economically sustainable and diversify their activities (for example, with products that assist the emergency services) with a view to sustaining and growing employment. Our funding does not support the manufacture of munitions.

Funding provided to companies in 2021-22 was as follows:

Company Amount
Raytheon Systems Ltd £600,000
Chemring Energetics UK Ltd £1,500
Rosyth Royal Dockyard Ltd £1,958,858
Thales UK Ltd £1,111,094
