This is an opportunity for you to join our organisation as a Finance Assistant, helping to provide the core financial processing services for our organisation.

It’s your chance to develop your finance skills in a fast-paced environment where a proactive approach and excellent admin skills are essential.

As part of the Accounts Payable team, you'll support colleagues within the wider Finance directorate and other teams within our organisation.

The role

As part of the Accounts Payable team, your days will involve processing supplier invoices and staff expenses as well as communicating with internal and external customers to assist with any queries.

Responsibilities

Your main areas of responsibility will include:

  • Financial compliance and processing:
    • Ensuring supplier invoices comply with our finance policies
    • Data entry – processing invoices and grant claims into the finance system
    • Reviewing staff expenses for policy compliance and receipt validation
  • Customer service and communication:
    • Monitoring our team mailbox and helpdesk
    • Responding to queries from suppliers and colleagues

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or administrative support role
  • Ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload and work with a range of competing priorities and deadlines
  • A customer-focused approach
  • Strong team-working abilities with excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Competence in using Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and Teams
  • Qualifications or skills and experience at SCQF Level 6 or above

Ideally, but not essentially, you'll also have:

  • Experience using SUN Accounts
  • Experience working in public sector organisations
