Be part of building Scotland’s future

Scottish Enterprise is Scotland’s national and international economic development agency. We work to transform the Scottish economy by helping businesses to innovate and scale.

Our work is critical to the Scottish Government’s National Strategy for Economic Transformation (NSET) and its goals of creating high-value jobs, boosting productivity, and growing national wealth.

Dedicated to enhancing our HR processes, we’re improving our overall employee experience through data-driven insights and innovative solutions.

Join our HR team as a talented People Analyst, and you’ll help us create a dynamic, supportive workplace.

The role

Playing a key role in analysing HR data, you’ll provide actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making. It’ll mean working closely with your HR colleagues and other stakeholders to make sure our initiatives are always informed by accurate, meaningful data. You’ll also look at ways to streamline HR processes and enhance our data management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Data analysis – from collecting, analysing, and interpreting HR data to identifying trends, patterns, and insights
  • Reporting – you’ll develop and maintain HR dashboards and reports that track key metrics and performance indicators
  • HR systems management – use our HR Information Systems (HRIS) to manage and analyse employee data effectively, as well as providing expert guidance on how the system works
  • Stakeholder collaboration – by working with HR and other departments to understand their data needs, you’ll provide relevant insights
  • Process improvement – you’ll look to identify opportunities for improving HR processes and systems based on your data analysis
  • Data integrity – ensuring the accuracy and integrity of HR data through regular audits and quality checks
  • Project support – assisting in HR projects by providing data analysis and insights to support decision making
  • Documentation – creating process and user guides for HR systems, and providing training and ongoing support

Who we’re looking for

You’ll bring us experience in an HR analytics or data analyst role. Having worked in a fast-paced environment with key deadlines and competing priorities, you’ll have a combination of:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools like Excel, Business Objects and Power BI
  • Experience with HR Information Systems and a strong understanding of their functions (ideally including a working knowledge of iTrent)
  • Excellent communication skills, plus an ability to present data insights to various audiences
  • A high level of attention to detail, as well as a commitment to data accuracy
