What's involved?

How much can you get?

The amount of grant available depends on our assessment of a number of factors, including:

  • Location, size and cost of your project
  • Size of your business
  • Number of jobs created or safeguarded
  • Quality & type of these jobs

The grant is discretionary and the level offered (within EC limits) will depend on our assessment of how much is needed to make the project go ahead.

Aid for initial investment

For projects that require significant investment in capital expenditure, RSA can provide assistance under Aid for Initial investment.

To calculate the amount of grant available we take into account:

  • Location and size of your business.
  • Amount of eligible capital expenditure relating to the project.
  • Number of jobs created or safeguarded at the project premises as a direct result of the project.

Aid for job creation

Projects that will create new jobs but involve relatively low levels of capital expenditure can still be eligible for assistance through 'Aid for job creation'. To calculate the amount of grant available we take into account a proportion of the first two years' salary costs of the jobs created by the project.

Aid for job creation does not apply to any safeguarded jobs.

Location of your project

Depending on the location of your project and the size of your business, different levels of RSA are available.

Use our postcode checker to find out what tier your project is in and what level of funding could be available to you.
